Used to be plans to build and elevated freeway from the 60/215 to the 91 freeways over university ave. to provide a direct route into downtown and to relieve traffic at the 60/91/215 interchange.
The blvd used to be a seedy corridor with prostitution and open air drug markets, gang banging, murders and so on.

  • lol whaddaya mean "used to" be seedy? This is still not at all a nice part of town. Some nights you can drive up and down this stretch of University and still see tons of prostitutes walking around, it's crazy.
  • Ok ok...yes...it's still seedy, but compared to how it used to be in the 80's and 90's when prostitutes were found dead in motel rooms, and druggies were found dead on bus benches from OD's. But yes...i still would never move into the area. it's came a long way, but still needs a way to go.
