The Downingtown twin tunnels on Valley Creek Road are infamous in Chester County for haunting and even the supposed place of murder.
In the summer of 1995, a suitcase was found in the creek just outside of the tunnels filled with the remains of a 20 year old woman. Her identity was never discovered, and her killer never found. Rumors about a young girl hanging herself in the tunnels have also abounded. Supposedly, her spirit can be seen on Halloween night.
