Built in the 1890s as West Hall, this is the only building that pre-dates the University. Notice the building is non-geometrical: the builders intended to build a second, mirror image building to the East, but ran out of funds and the school was disbanded. Archbishop Christie purchased the building in 1901.
It was renamed as part of its 1990 renovation, to honor Paul Waldschmidt, a former president of the University.
