Located on Lake Erie adjacent to the 117-acre Cleveland Lakefront State Park, at the western end of the 5 mile-long main harbor. The EYC was founded as the Cleveland Boat Club in a split from the Cleveland Yachting Club when the CYC moved from downtown west to the mouth of the Rocky River in 1914. In 1927 the splinter group adopted the name Edgewater Yacht Club in anticipation of its 1928 move to its present location.
