National Research Nuclear University "MIFI" is one of the most recognized technical universities in Russia was founded in 1942 as Moscow Mechanical Institute of Munitions renamed as Moscow Mechanical Institute. It was renamed as Moscow Engineering Physics Institute in 1953 and National Research Nuclear University "MIFI" since April 8, 2009. MIFI's logo is a representation of the hand of man taming the wild animal of sciences for his own use. Nearest Railway station is Kashirskaya station on the Zamoskvoretskaya Line of the Moscow Metro and arround 1 K.M. away from famous Kolomenskoe park and museum.

MIFI has 6,000 students in six departments (experimental and theoretical physics, high technology physics, cybernetics, information security, automatics and electronics, and humanitarian department) offering bachelor, masters, and post-graduate degrees in physics, mathematics, computer science, and other areas.
