house, education, campsite / caravan site

This former farmhouse has been converted into a facility for Dumfries and Galloway Council Outdoor Education. There has been little funding put into the maintenance of the building and facilities are extremely basic. There are some fields on the hillslope to the west which are suitable for the pitching of tents, but permission should be sought.
A forest track runs North-South on the eastern side of the facility and is part of the National Cycle Network. There is also an area used for car parking on the track, as the road is blocked to unauthorised vehicles by a gate, and is a good point to base hillwalking or cycling trips.
