Lend Lease’s Sydney head office. The first office building in Australia to achieve a five star Australian Building Greenhouse Rating (ABGR). It features an environmental design, including 30 per cent lower CO2 emission than a typical office building. The ABGR rating is substantially achieved through the use of chilled beam air conditioning.
Lend Lease (originally Civil & Civic) was set up in response to an Australian mission which visited Amsterdam in 1949 to invite the interest of companies in the Snowy River Scheme. Two Dutch companies, the biggest builder, Bredero's and the Royal Dutch Harbour Company, sent an engineer, GJ Dusseldorp, to appraise the situation. He was so impressed by the country's possibilities that the companies formed a joint venture, Civil & Civic Contractors (the Harbour Company sold its interest to Bredero's in 1953) with Dusseldorp placed in charge.
Lend Lease is now a leading international retail and residential property group, integrated with strong investment management and construction management businesses. The organisation has global reach and world-class local capability (primarily operating in Australia, the UK and the US ), delivered by employees dedicated to collaborating with stakeholders and working with integrity.
Lend Lease is committed to being Incident & Injury Free. A philosophy which reaches every part of their operations and extends to clients, suppliers, subcontractors and other stakeholders.
