Church of Ayios Ioannis Prodromos (St. John the Baptist Church), built in 1861 by the people of pano enoria (upper parish) of Assia. On the 29th of August each year the village celebrated the day of the Saint with a very big festival (panigiri - πανηγύρι)which the whole village attended and many of their friends from neighboring villages.
The people from the upper parish (pano enoria) and lower parish (kato enoria) competed in finishing their respective churches. Both were completed in about 3 months.
