Old Mill Boarding Kennel is among the largest pet boarding establishments in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, with a maximum capacity of about 250 dogs and 100 cats. Each canine boarder is provided with a private, combination indoor/outdoor kennel run, the indoor portion of which is climate controlled. The kennel operates a full-service grooming facility as well, with 5 professional full-time groomers. The kennel opened in the early 1980s.

Old Mill Veterinary Hospital is AAHA-accredited and was added onto the kennel site in 1995. The hospital has a staff of four veterinarians, four licensed veterinary technicians, and several veterinary assistants. OMVH offers a full range of veterinary services, including surgery. In addition, they have a full-time licensed veterinary technician who offers canine physical rehabilitation services, including an underwater treadmill designed to gradually and gently rehabilitate dogs that have undergone spinal surgery, leg surgery, hip replacement surgery, and other conditions.
