A beautiful village of Chakwal district situated 42 kilometers from Chakwal via Dhudial & near about 35 kilometers via Jamalwal. As it is the significance of the most of the villages of Chakwal that they are situated on the little hills where both sides or from one side of them rainy lakes are passing, like them Haraj is also situated upon a hill where from one side of it rainy water passage is there in the direction of north east.

It is an agricultural village which lands spread 4 km in the east touching the lands of Dhok Murid, 2 km in the north touching Narang village, 2 km in the west near to Bikhari & Pind & 4 km in the south touching Ghugh & Thanil Kamal’s lands near Bagnai. The lands in the east & south of the village are hilly but in the north & west these are plane & more fertilized.

The people of the Haraj are very kind, humble & considered as most hosting people in the area. Due to lack of education facilities many of the youngsters are serving in Pakistan Armed Forces after getting their Secondary or Higher Secondary School Certificates & many of them directed their directions to the Foreign Countries. The people who are working in the Govt. Departments or doing Civil jobs are moving towards cities to educate their children well. One Boys & one Girls Primary Schools are working under the Govt.supervision. Now Mumtaz Foundation Education Complex has opened its branch here to educate not only the children of Haraj but also its a big benefit for the people of Narang, Pind & Bikhari. It is a good progressive step in this education era & its the need of time. Before that Al Saarim Academy was serving the education facility under the kind control of Ch. Anwaar Hussain, which is now merged in Mumtaz Foundation.

The people who are interested in politics are having their Baithaks at the different spots of the village every morning & night also. The main Baithaks are Sardar Asad Hayat Havaili, Ch. Muhammad Taj House, Baba Taj Mehfil, Mehrban Grocery Shop, Ch. Ashraf’s Baithak on Ahli & Ch. Ghulam Khizar’s Daira. One more positive thing is that Haji Farhat Abbas is delivering an Islamic lecture every morning after Namaz-e-Fajar that is also the need of time to live the lives according to Islam.

Here I want to give a tribute to Ch. Iftikhar Hussain, Ch. Muhammad Taj, Sardar Asad Hayat, Haji Muhammad Abbas, Ch. Javed Iqbal, Rustam Khan, Ch. Taj Member, Mehrban Khan, Ch. Ashiq Hussain, Ch. M. Ashraf, Master Fazal Noor, Thaikedar Fazal Noor & Ch. Imtiaz Hussain (Late) for their positive roll for the development of our beautiful village.

  • Dear fellows from Haraj, It was great to find that you people have marked your village Haraj on Wikimapia and thus have made your village accessible to every one on this earth. And I reckon all of you who are writing on this page would be surely the most educated lot of Haraj. It is really very disappointing to see your views based on your self proclaimed Haq and Such about the elders of your village who being illiterate can not put forward their defence. It is just washing your dirty linen in the public and don't you have any thing positive to share about Haraj for which you can take pride.   • It is very much appreciable on Mr. Umer Habib part that He at least put our Village's introduction on WikiMapia. But comments from some of the residents of Haraj made me sad as there was no need to put such things on website. Haraj is beautiful village and there is no doubt about it but physical features do not make any place or person beautiful or ugly. Its the inner strength which makes them beautiful and strong. Inner strength for persons is their character and inner strength for places are the unity of people residing there. Hopefully our beautiful village will have unity among its people for the common good. Kindly refrain from posting such comments which shows the ugly side of poster's nature. We should try to contribute positively towards our religion, village and country.
