Designed c. 1927 by Schultze & Weaver and renovated in 1990, the 13-storey (43 m) Ingraham Building represents classic historical downtown Miami. Constructed by the Model Land Company, the real estate division of Henry Flagler's Florida East Coast Railroad, it bears the name of Flagler's Chief Engineer, James Edmunson Ingraham. Its Renaissance Revival style is marked by a façade of Indiana limestone and masonry, crowned by a hipped roof sheathed in Spanish tiles. Representing the 1900s "Chicago School" style of architecture, the Ingraham Building has been described as "one of the most elegant office buildings in downtown Miami." New Times voted The Ingraham as having the "Best Lobby" in its 1998 "Best of Miami" edition.

The Ingraham Building, with 200,000 sq. ft. of modern office space in a setting of old world elegance is recognized as a landmark for its central location, illustrious history and association with the golden age of early Miami.

In recognition of its exceptional attributes The Ingraham Building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.
