In this monument, the hand of Mexican president, Alvaro Obregón, was displayed as he preserved it after loosing it in battle. The hand was kept in a glass jar filled with formaldehyde and, as kids, we used to go and see it just to gross us out! Eventually it got so bad that the authorities finally decided to remove it and bury it with Obregon's remains. At the center, there is also a piece of floor from a restaurant where Obregón was assassinated. They say you could see blood on it, but it had faded by the time I was a child in the 70's.
