Established in 2004 bust made of bronze, the pedestal - from labradorite. Authors: Y. Gavyuk sculptor and architect I. R. Krasavtseva-Baida.

Roerich (1902 – 1960) was a prominent 20th century Tibetologist. His work encompassed many areas of Tibetan studies, but in particular he is known for his contributions to Tibetan dialectology and for his monumental translation of the Blue Annals, and his multi-volume Tibetan dictionary published posthumously.

George was the son of the painter and explorer Nicholas Roerich.
