  I spent a week consulting in a mine near this lake in the winter. Miners told me quite a few deer were road-killed along the road and that frequently a miner with a pick-up truck would toss the carcass in the back then out on the ice of the lake. They kept track of where the deer went. When the ice melted the body would sink and feed the large brown trout there. Men would then fish where the deer had been dumped.
