so it is! This plant opened during WW2 to make ammo for our troops and it also provided good paying and much needed jobs for the locals..the "arsenal for democracy" as it were. The plant was then shut down, only to reopen for the Korean War and also the Viet Nam war. Looking at an aerial photo of the site, you can see how they located the ammo bunkers evenly spaced apart so that if one blew up the others would not.
