A large plot of land decreed to the people of Savile Park by the Savile family in the 1800s. Site of the annual Halifax Agricultural Show. Part of Mrs. Ratcliffe's Revolution was filmed here.

  • Nice piece of spare land this one, makes good sports fields and all round entertainment enviourment from waling the dog to fun fairs, theres not a lot thats not been done here with exception of a big rave (Make it happen)
  • Mrs Radcliffe's Revolution (starring Catherine Tate) was filmed here.
  • The Skircoat Moor meeting of 4 Oct 1819 was held in protest against the Peterloo Massacre. It was addressed by Manchester radicals and orators, Knight, Saxton and Mitchell. There were many colourful banners (probably of Friendly Societies - unions being illegal - and churches, and many caps of liberty on poles.
