Atlantis Charter School Lower Site

The building was opened in the 1950s as the Blessed Sacrament Convent. In 1972, Saint Joseph Montessori School began operating in the complex, which it operated until 1995, the last three years being known as the Montessori School of the Angels (now located in Westport). In 1995, Atlantis Charter School began operating in the main building of the site, with the western annex building being operated by the John Boyd Center as a preschool. The campus split in 2000, with the Upper Site moving to the former Durfee Tech building, then the former South Main Place, and finally the Dominican Academy site. The school is planning on moving soon to a unified campus along the banks of the Watuppa.
