Thomas Jefferson Memorial

Bronze statue of the third President of the United States, encircled by 30-ton classical columns removed from the Bank of Pittsburgh prior to its demolition in around 1940. Founded during Jefferson's lifetime in 1810, the bank was reputed to have been the oldest on the continent west of the Appalachian Mountains.
