Sungryong Hall is a shrine for the worship of Tangun, the legendary founder of Kojoson, the first Korean kingdom. Tangun was said to be the grandson of Heaven, and to have founded his nation in 2333 BC. Today, he is still venerated in North Korea for his role in the foundation of the country.
