Southern tip of Morris County, New Jersey and incorporated on March 23, 1866, Long Hill Township consists of five unincorporated areas; Meyersville, Millington, Stirling, Gillette and Homestead Park. Each village has its own distinctive character; an outcome from their diverse customs and heritage.

Meyersville - was a farming community. The last surviving farm in Long Hill Township is in operation today. The village square continues to foster a "local" atmosphere and the Grange still holds such events as the “Soup Tasting Contest”

Millington – was a weekend retreat for the “east coast” wealthy and is rich in history, the only buildings on the National Historic Register are located here. Nash and Nishwitch had homes here and built the famous Acme Harrow in Millington.

Stirling – the factory town. Its roots as a working class community began from establishment of the silk mill and the railroad line. Today, the Main Street ambiance with small shops continues.

Gillette – Began as a suburban commuter center, Gillette is a well established residential area with local community shops and services.

Homestead park – the smallest of the five, it was originally created as an upscale camping retreat. Later it turned into a planned community. Today, most of the small homes have been replaced with larger ones; the area is occupied solely with private residences.
