The Gallery at Market East (Center City)

A four-story enclosed shopping mall in the heart of downtown Philadelphia, The Gallery at Market East stretches along, above, and below Market Street between 12th and 8th Streets.

It is currently anchored by Kmart, Burlington Coat Factory, Pay/Half, Old Navy, Five Below, and Modell's Sporting Goods. Former anchor tenants include JCPenney, Gimbel's, and Strawbridge & Clothier. Additionally, the edifice is adjacent to SEPTA's Market East Regional Rail station, two stops on the SEPTA Market-Frankford Subway Line (8th Street and 11th Street), the Pennsylvania Convention Center, Chinatown, and Reading Terminal Market.

Over 130 retail and dining options make their homes in the mall. Vendors include Suncoast Pictures, f.y.e., Kay-Bee Toys, Wet Seal, G+G, Gamestop, Foot Locker, and Borders Express. Two separate food courts offer patrons a wide variety, with Burger King, McDonalds, KFC, Subway, Popeye's Chicken, Chick-Fil-A, and Dunkin' Donuts represented. The Gallery sees increased business during each and every holiday season, thanks to its accessibility via mass transit as well as its proximity to the Macys department store at the nearby Wanamaker Building, which puts on an annual holiday light show.
