Matthew Shepard hate crime site

Here 21-year old Matthew Shepard was beaten, tortured, tied to a fence and left for dead on the early morning of Oct 7, 1998. He died from his injuries five days later, Oct 12, in a hospital in Fort Collins, Colorado.

His killers, Russell Henderson and Aaron McKinney, are both serving two consecutive life sentences for felony murder and kidnapping. Evidence at the trial revealed that Shepard's homosexual identity was a motive for the crime.
