Castlemaine Colliery

Some impressive engine house remains right next to the highway indicate the site of Castlemaine Colliery closed approx 1930s but retained as second way out of Parkend Royal Colliery and Parkend deep Navigation Colliery which were linked to the Fancy Colliery. Adjacent to the site is the still impressive spoil heaps from this close cluster of Parkend collieries.
