It means "narrow" tungسوڑا.
Completed in 2010.
A dam built on the "Sora Kuss" (or narrow water course in english), an otherwise dry stream, only used to be flooded during rainy season. Has a very big reservoir because of the very substantial watershed behind it.
It is also a historical place. Here the chohans fought the famous battle for their survival against the the gakhar attackers, defeating them, but losing most of their numbers too. The battleground is still visible on a small ridge nearby, where graves mark the place where the combatants fell. The place is called "Bralli" ( r is actually pronounced as in "Ghora") in the local vernacular. The chohans descendents today live in the vllage of Rehra/Ghazial from where they spread to a few other nearby villages later on.
The "Sora" is actually a pass through the mountains from which the actual G T road (or Sher Shah road) passes before the present G T road was made by the English.
