The Three Sisters Plant is TransAlta's smallest power plant, with a generating capacity of three megawatts (MW). Its primary function is to control the release of water from the Spray Lakes reservoir.
The Three Sisters Plant is one of TransAlta's three plants on the Spray System, which is part of the Bow River Electric System in Alberta. The plant uses the Spray Lakes Storage Reservoir created by the Canyon Dam to the south, and the Three Sisters Dam to the north. The plant is located at the base of the Three Sisters Dam.
