  • this is my one of the favorite play ground in the world. why because i have spent most the time here only during my school and college days. i had scored lot of fiftees and taken lot of wickets. so i will never forget this. if u have time go and play.   • Bringing back all my memories of 1980's. Spent lots of time in Anna Poonga playing football. Park was wonderful with croatans and other plants. Swings and other things were wonderful and they were operational despite frequent breakdowns. Volley ball was very popular and attracted lots of visitors. There would be radio broadcast from the park room. There were plenty of saturday and sunday cricket with teams like Emerald CC and Enfield CC. There were this unfriendly hockey players asking you to walk out of the field all the time.
  • I CAN'T FORGET THIS PLAYGROUND........BRINGING BACK ALL MY MEMORIES OF 2005-2009 I CAN'T FORGET END OF MY LIFE...IN THIS GROUND I MAKE SOME FRIENDS.........I HAVE SPENT MOST OF THE TIME HRER ONLY...I DON'T LIKE TO GO BACK HOME.... I LIKE TO PLAY SWING......MOST OF THE PEOPLE LIKE TO SIT HERE DURING SUMMER SEASON.........OLD WOMEN AND MAN ARE USED TO WALK ON THE PLATFORM...THIS PLAY GROUND IS ENTERTAINMENT OF THIRUNAGAR PEOPLS.IF U HAVE TIME SIT IN THE PLAYGROUND U ALSO GO BACK TO THE MEMORIES.... NOW IAM IN CANADA IAM MISSING THIS PARK
  • This park is the integral part of my childhood life, We use to play Cricket and Hockey here. By the way we (Guhan, Pandi, Shankar,Durai) started Emerald CC in 1976 and then managed by Muthu&Nagaraj. I am soooo happy that some of the team members are still remembering Emerald CC.
  • From 1980 to current date still attitude of hockey team has not changed ,i completely agree with Mr. Gnanam, Emerald cc is still playing in the name of Thirunagar rainbow ,undoubtely it is managed by Nagaraj still who is leading the team in league ,i thank soundarapandi sir and gnanam sir for their words about emerald ,now the park is serving the 3rd generation kids still very looking ,now it is divided as childrens park and play park which is properly managed by ramesh of hockey club thirunagar,over these years park had given itself for the prodcution of many hockey and cricket players from thirunagar .crotans and radio had vansihed but the small stage bulid by ex mla and platform around for walkers are the new features of park ,many trees have fallen down but new trees have been planted around the play park. hi sanjesh . dont mislead the bloggers that you have scored fiftes ,but i agree that your 5 wicket haul in 6 balls in the finals of 2005 tournament in park was unforgettable which lead everest cc to win that tournament ,but i the same time i will give credit to your sr. player vijay who was the man of the series in that tournament,which was last cricket tournament at park
  • What Soundarapandian wrote is correct. He was the fastest bowler during his days in 1980s in Thirunagar and we used to call him Pandi Roberts and still the team is being maintained by Nagaraj and they are playing in Madurai District League III Division.
