The Caste “BUIYAR” passes its life with great soberness and genteelism and was considered as the Scheduled Caste by the Court Order No. 1442/25-10-1957 dated 22-05-1957.
In 1979 passing of the Scheduled Caste certificate was banned due to some reasons. After that, in 1982, the Scheduled Caste certificate again passed by the order of respected High Court Allahabad, As, Bhuiyar (Hindu Julaha) Samaj have got certificate of scheduled caste, reservation got in different areas of the career of Bhuiyar people, being many benefits to their life.
According to the different places, the name of the caste Bhuiyar is different like it generally called as Julaha, kabir panthi, Bhanyar julaha, Bunkar Samaj etc
Bhuiyar samaj is now much developed to the very beginning of the days of free India, after 1947.They have been come, out from the boundation of many old, non basic thinking.
The Panth of Bhuiyar is Kabir Panth. Kabir Saheb was born about 600 years ago in 1455 in the Brahmin family at Kashi, but, he was looked after by the Weaver (Julaha), Neeru and his wife Neema. Kabir Saheb was uneducated, in spite of that, he is known for his great collection of “Dhohas”, which teaches us the truth and the fact of the simple and prosperous life, encloses in the great “Kabir Amrit Waani”. He was a very great and simple person and that is the reason of his influence on others. Bhuiyar people follow the path of welfare shown by him.
The behavioral occupation of Bhuiyar Samaj is weaving; therefore the caste is also called as the “Bunkar Samaj” (Julaha). The word Julaha was also exists at the time of industrial revolution of England from 1770 to 1830. It has been stated that in 1785, Edmaondmarau. Invented a hydraulic weaving machine and the three hydraulic weaving machine can run together at the same time with the help of only one person, this works more than the three good weavers.
In the ancient age, the weaving was only the occupation for Bhuiyar people, but now days, Bhuiyar people works in different industries for different positions, some are Businessmen, Contractors, Industrialist, Farmers and other occupation also.
After, India has got freedom, Bhuiyar Samaj has got many achievements in different areas and in that, and agriculture is also included. Agriculture is the 30% of the gross productivity of India and Bhuiyar people also share some of that part through agriculture and they are proud of it.
For unrestricted progress of Bhuiyar Samaj, the people of Bhuiyar Samaj made many committees like “Prantiya Bhuiyar Maha Sabha Uttarakhand”, “Prantiya Bhuiyar Maha Sabh Uttar Pradesh”, are the state level and many committees are the district level like “Bhuiyar Samaj Kalyan Samiti Hardwar”, “Bhuiyar Sabha Janpad Bijnore”, “Bhuiyar Sabha Dehradun”, “Bhuiyar Sabha Saharnpur”, “Bhuiyar Sabha Meerut”, “Bhuiyar Samiti Udham Singh Nagar” “Bhuiyar and Kori Sabha Janpad Pori”, etc. Regularly and frequently held meeting of these committees for different steps to be taken for the progress of the whole community at Shri Kabir Dharmshala Janpad Haridwar situated at Hardwar (Near Rishikul Hardwar) is a very old Kabir Dharmshala which was cheatedly in the hand of other person, is now in the hand of Bhuiyar Samaj, where Bhuiyar rally goes to the Kabir Dharmshal and forces him to get it back in 2008.
Now days the Bhuiyar Samaj progresses day by day and it can see a very good future of healthy – wealthy environment of Bhuiyar Samaj.
