Purchased from KCET in April, 2011, this new center will support Scientology's already robust audio-visual endeavors. This location will focus on short form video and internet productions while it's flagship production facility, Golden Era Productions (located on 500 acres outside Los Angeles), will continue to produce informational and educational films.

KCET, channel 28, is an independent, non-commercial public television station licensed to Los Angeles, California. KCET's transmitter is atop Mount Wilson. It is now located at 2900 Alameda in the heart of Burbank's media district.

History:

Originally built in 1912 by Sigmund "Pop" Lubin, one of the early big movie moguls.

In 1913 Essany (Bronco Billy Anderson) took over the lot, followed by Kalem Pictures the same year.

1920 Charles Ray, who closed it in 1923, where it remained vacant.

1927 International Film Studio.

1942 Monogram Pictures buys the lot, as well as a ranch in the valley. They become a major player with several popular movie series including The Bowery Boys and Charlie Chan.

In 1946 Monogram started an "A" picture brand, Allied Artists,working out of the same studio and in 1952 the Monogram name was dropped in favor of the AA moniker. Allied Artists who produced the original "Invasion of the Body Snatchers."

In 1964 Allied Artists ceased production and the studio became a rental lot.

In 1967 was known as Colorvision TV and in the late 60s was called "The Back Lot."

In 1970 KCET bought the storied studio lot where it has remained until 2012, its longest owner.

2011 purchased by the Church of Scientology as it's Hollywood Media Center. 2012 they actually took possession.

The original Address was 1425 Fleming (now Hoover), a face of the lot on an adjoining street.
