Moti Daman fort is a huge structure that was built in the year 1559 A.D. It covers a total area of 30,000 square meters.The fort has two entrance passages and 10 bastions. The fort is surrounded by a moat, which links the river to the sea. It is polygonal in shape and has projections that stick out at regular intervals from the central fort. These projections are 500 feet high and carries angle-like citadels or bastions. The rooftop of the fort of Moti Daman is well-connected to the ground region with the help of a flight of steps. The parapets above the fortified walls of the fort contains loop holes. The inside wall of the fort consists of barracks, where the army personnels dwell. The gateway that is located in the southern region of the fort has numerous inscriptions, which cites the history of Moti Daman. The northern gateway also has inscriptions embedded on it. These writings embedded within the gate walls give the actual date of construction of the fort.

    Thats rubbish....cause I leave in fort area n I see government cleaning walls from in n out of whole fort n planting new trees n lawn. Its bee protecting people leaving in it n people are taking good care of it.

    It's portuguese. Must be rebuilt,cause the churchs are in very bad shape... In good old portugueses times was a magnificent place...shame on india who invaded this lovely place to destroy it!!!
