Shah Vajih Uddin Alawi( 1504 – 1592)
Shah Vajih Uddin was a great Scholar, teacher, mystic, saint, humanitarian and educationist. His grand mausoleum is in Khanpur of the old city of Ahmedabad founded by king Ahmedshah.
Legend has it that 80,000 students and 1,400 Caliphs are said to have had studied under or taken advantage of the knowledge of Shah Alawi. Having authored around 200 books on fiqah, tasawwuf and other areas of religious subjects, with his notes, Shah Alawi established a private library of his own.
Shah Vajih Uddin Alawi who was born in Champaner fort city, formerly Mehmudabad, lies buried under his mausoleum, in Ahmedabad, India.
