Reunion Arena (Dallas)


Reunion Arena is an indoor arena in the Reunion district of downtown Dallas, Texas. The arena holds 17,293 for basketball and 17,001 for ice hockey. It was completed in 1980 at a cost of $27,000,000. It served as the home arena of the following teams:
Dallas Mavericks (1980-2001)
Dallas stars (1993-2001)
Dallas Desperados (2003)
Dallas Stallions (1999)
Dallas Tornado (1980-1981)
Dallas Sidekicks (1984-2004)
Dallas Texans (1990-1993)
It also hoated the 1986 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament, the 1986 NBA All-star Game, and the 1984 Republin National Convention. It was also frequently used by World Class Championship Wrestling during the 1980s. The arena officially closed on June 30, 2008 and is slated for demolition.

Reunion Arena will be torn down in 2008. Last event that looks to be held there based on their website is Monster Jam February 9-10.

How sad. It's an institution. I guess things like that doesn't matter anymore. RIP.

I really wish they'd consider keeping it. It's like a landmark or something. The skyline will never be the same after it's gone :(

Reunion arena was already demolished in November 2009, and there are no plans to redevelop the site. So if the imagery is updated, please delete this tag.
