Alnmouth railway station

The only station in Northumberland allowing access to the heart of the county from the South & North of the country. Thanks to the terrible effects of the rationalisation of the British Railway network in the 1960s transport in rural areas like Northumberland are very restricted. Thanks, I believe, to the efforts of local M.P. Alan Beith, this station remains open and a reasonable (?) service is maintained to Edinburgh and London
