Shalaurova Island - an island in the East Siberian Sea. Located at the seventieth latitude. The width of the island of 0.8 km.
Shalaurova is one of the bases of the Northern Sea Route. In the very tops of the island, at desyatimetrovoy wooden tower is a beacon is powered by radioisotope thermoelectric generators. Reactor fuel is a strontium - 90. Issued an RTG is very much like the SU-73B without anode output.
Even before chelyuskinskoy epic double-wintered on the island of the ships: "Kolyma" - in 1924 and "Stavropol" - in 1927. Survive the winter, they have not all the members of ships crews.
On the eastern shore are the old graves.
