La Lajilla is a small town in the Mexican State of Tamaulipas.
It is where Leonardo Alanis (also known as Leo Najo) was born in 1899. Najo was the first player selected to the Mexican Baseball Hall of Fame (in 1939), and he was also one of the first Mexican-born players to play professionally in the United States, having been drafted in 1925 by the Chicago White Sox.
