Formerly home to the Alameda Airport. Developers decided that the growing west side needed a mall more than an airport, the remnants of which can be seen to the north of the mall in the form of some leftover asphalt and a faded dirt runway. The two-story mall is anchored by Dillard's, JCPenney, Conn's (lower level only, used to be Mervyn's) and Sears (former site of Montgomery Ward). It used to have a Macy's (formerly Foley's) but it closed in early 2017.
