The western part is mostly uninhabited, with bushes and fields covering the afforementioned confluence. The public transportation is sparse, with only infrequent bus service for the most of the neighbourhood and two trolleybus routes terminating on the east side, on the very edge of the neighbourhood. Almost all of the traffic in the neighbourhood goes through Raudondvaris road.

The northern part of the neighbourhood is colloquially called Žemieji Kaniūkai. It is notable as the state company "Regitra", overlooking transport registration and driver licensing, is situated there. The southern part is covered with a forest, and it is a suspected site of a short-lived wooden castle of a Teutonic order, named Ritterswerder.
