Bordered by Ne-Ah-Ta-Wanta Road to the north and west; Peninsula Drive on the east. A state boat launch provides easy access to popular scuba sites around nearby Power (Marion) Island. The marina hosts The Boathouse restaurant (upscale, eclectic dining), and is the site of the first non-Indian school in the Traverse City area aboard the schooner Madeline during the 1851-52 winter for five young men, the captain, and his crew . The captain and his brothers, were named Fitzgerald. One of their grandchildren headed an insurance company which named and owned another famous boat: the freighter
