Baobab Hill is just to the west of the H1-8 that links between Punda Maria Camp and the Pafuri area in the north of the Kruger Park.

This used to be the first outspan or camp site (a plaque marks the spot) for migrant workers from the northern areas (what is now Mozambique), who had been recruited to work in the gold mines of the interior.

This region provide ample sightings of kudu and nyala which sometimes feed close the road. In open areas, you may spot eland, tsessebe or Lichtenstein's hartebeest and keep a look out for the crested guineafowl which can only be seen in these northern areas.
