The co-generation plant produces both steam and electricity from one fuel source, natural gas. Steam is supplied to the Chrysler minivan assembly plant reducing heating expenses by 35%. Established in 1996 the plant produces 64 MW of electricity which is sold to the provincial grid. It produces enough electricity to power approximately 6,400 homes.
