    Know it well, Col. Ed Murphy, 1st Mar Div Vet of the fighting in the area. Yudam NI if just up the road. That is as far as we got. Surrounded by many thousand Chinese we then fought our way back to Hagaru Ri (The village now has an airport at the south end of the Changjin Reservoir. We called it the Chosin Reservoir. From Hagaru Ri we fought our way down the valley to Koto Ri at the top of the pass and then fought our way down to the sea at Hungnam. Temps ran at least 20-25 below zero. God Bless those we lost up there. Semper Fidelis!

    Farewell, SgtMaj(Ret) John O. Henry, Jr, now at Rest, then-SNCOIC of Fox company Wpns Plt Machinegun section. Personally accounted for more than 2000 enemy KIA trying to march thru The Pass like lemmings. Held his position along the roadside and Tfilled the road with KIAs. Silver Star and a ton of bar stories. Semper Fi, Marine.
