The Paris Theatre

USA / New Jersey / West New York / West 58th Street, 4

177-foot, 15-story Art-Moderne office building and theater completed in 1948. Designed by Emery Roth & Sons and Siegel & Green, it contains a 581-seat single-screen movie theater below the office floors. Opened by Pathé Cinema, it has specialized in foreign (especially French language) and independent films. In the early 1990s, Pathé lost its lease. Loews Theatres then took over the operation and it was known as the Fine Arts Theatre for a while. In 1994 the space was purchased by developer Sheldon Solow, and since 2009 it has been operated by City Cinemas.

With the Jan. 20, 2016 of the closing of the Ziegfeld, the Paris became Manhattan's sole-surviving single-screen cinema. It was purchased by Netflix to run their feature films.
