The church in the name of the Holy Virgin was built in by the owners of the Aksinyino village and estate. At first, here was a wooden church; now on its place there is a tiny chapel. Built in traditional Russian-Bysantian style, the church also has a side-altar in the name of ss. Apostles Peter and Paul. Frescoes inside were finished in 1899 (known artist Ya.Yepaneshnikov).

By 1927 the village had 54 yards with total population of 345. The church remained working even under the Bolsheviks, and was never closed. When the nearby Golovinsky monastery was closed, the main icon from the monastery (the icon of the Mother of God from Kazan) was moved to this church, and it is still there. From aniother closed church (the church of the Molchenovo icon of the Holy Virgin), another highly revered (and considered miracle-making) icon was brought here. The main bell was saved from scrape metal where it was brought from some other closed church.

Ther is also a sunday school working in the church premises.
