On April 17, 1953, Mickey Mantle hit a home run allegedly 565 feet off Washington Senators pitcher Chuck Stobbs. The ball went over the left field stands and out of the stadium. Yankees PR man Ron Patterson retrieved the ball and claimed a young boy had shown him the landing spot in the back yard of this house at 434 Oakdale Pl NW.
