Army troops of 632 Brigade (18 Vijayaba Regiment and 20 Sinha Regiment) have found the 5th runway east of Iranamadu tank adjoining the old kandy road which runs via Olumadu today evening, 14 January. The runway complex is 50m wide and over 1000m long, the sources said.

Army troops find 5th LTTE runway-Iranamadu [Updated]

Army troops of 632 Brigade (18 Vijayaba Regiment and 20 Sinha Regiment) have found the 5th LTTE runway, east of Iranamadu tank adjoining the old Kandy road which runs via Olumadu today evening, 14 January. The runway complex is 50m wide and over 1000m long, the sources said.

The runway is situated in the thick jungle with a massive bunker line and a trench line around the runway complex with mine fields and booby traps. A hanger has been found in the complex and it is said that the fleeing terrorists who were unable to with stand the firepower of Army troops have damaged the complex. The clearings operations are underway.
