Yatir Biological Herb Farm

Yatir Biological Farm located north of Beersheba,next to Yatir Forest and the Beduin Village of Hura, near the Eshtamoa Wadi.
The two famillies living in the Farm are Biologicaly growing and wild harvesting medical herbs and producing tinktures. The Farm is built as an autarc biological farm growing it's food, sheep and goats for production of diary products. Wild harvesting of medical herbs is done in full cooperation with Beduins living in the surrounding desert and other ways of cooperative activities and developments are planed with beduins as well as with the Hura, neighbouring Beduin Village council

  • "Biological" in Europe is synonymous with the American "organic', which yields the Hebrew 'organi'. Yet it is unclear whether the herbs and products in question are organic, as in Israel "bio" is attached to some products which are not organic As I live in Arad, I find this farm most interesting.
