Parking garage for the adjacent Dime Building. In 1914, the Orpheum Theatre opened on part of this site, after several name changes, it became the Shubert Lafayette and was eventually purchased by David Nederlander, founder of the Nederlander Theatrical Organization. It was demolished in 1965. The other portion of the site was one of the early locations of the Detroit Free Press. The Free Press relocated two blocks west on Lafayette in 1925 and the building eventually became home to offices of the Grand Trunk Railroad.
