island, atoll
Fuvahmulah (called Fua Mulaku on some maps) is the 25th natural atoll of the Maldives. Administratively it corresponds to Gnaviyani Atoll (a designation after that letter of the Dhivehi alphabet) - one of the 21 administrative divisions of the country.
Strictly speaking Fuvahmulah is now an island, from a former atoll whose lagoon has silted up. It has a population of 11,140.
