City Estate of the Bibikov family - architectural monument (Moscow)

Russia / Moscow / Moscow / Bolshaya Nikitskaya ulitsa, 46
mansion / manor house / villa, Classicism, 1830s construction, 1780s construction, object of cultural heritage of federal importance (Russia), 1810s construction

The ensemble consists of the main house located in the heart of the courtyard, two lateral wings connected to it semicircular galleries, two service buildings and a timbered shed, developed in the end the 18th-beginning of 19th centuries.

At the heart of the estate is the two-story with attic main house. The original house of 1781 with its wooden second floor burned during the fires of 1812. At restoration both the second floor, and the attic were built of brick.

The existing shape of a building dates from the 1860s-1870s when the arch window of the attic was altered, the wrought-iron balcony was added, and strict classical scenery of the main facade was replaced by the stucco molding with decorations.

Lay-out and architectural furnishings of the first quarter of 19th century remain still in the lobby with its grand staircase and oval hall with the balconies.
