The Monolith (Oslo)

The monument is 17.12meters high and caved out of one singen block of stone.
It consists of 121 figures, and is modeled by Vigeland in the years 1924-25.
Three stone carvers spendt the years from 1929 to 1943 to complete the Monolith.
The column is completely covered by human figures in relief, singly or in groups.
