First operational sometime between 1910 and the early '40s, the park alllowed early car drivers a place to park and allow their cars to cool down while travelling up and down the road grade. It was shut down when new facilities at Mountain Spring made the park obsolete. Later, it was re-opened in 1964 with restroom facilities, a petting zoo, and phone service. With the coming of the new freeway in 1968, the park was rarely visited and was eventually shut down in the late '70s.
